Marvin S. Littky
is a
highly successful personal injury attorney who began practicing law in
Detroit, Michigan in 1963. He and his family moved to Palm Beach County in
1973 where he continued in the personal injury practice.
Mr. Littky attended the
University of Detroit where he completed his undergraduate studies and
graduated from Stetson University College of Law with an LLB. and Juris
Doctor degree in 1963.
Since his graduation, he has
always represented the rights of the injured both in Michigan and now in
Florida. He has been involved in a personal injury practice in one form or
another for the past 40 years.
Mr. Littky's legal associations
include the Palm Beach County Bar Association, The Florida Bar
Association, the Florida Academy of Trial lawyers and the Michigan Bar
Association. In addition, he is a charter member of the Palm Beach County
Trial Lawyers Association.
He is admitted to practice in
the United States Federal District Court for the Eastern District of
Michigan, in addition to the U.S. Federal District Court for the Southern
District of Florida.
Mr. Littky's wife Roberta, is a
financial consultant with Smith Barney in North Palm Beach. They have
three grown children Julie, Pamela, and Joseph and four grand children. He has coached Little
League teams in the town of Palm Beach for many years.
Mr. Littky has
served on various committees in the Palm Beach County Bar Association. In
addition, he has been an active member of the Board of Trustees of Temple
Beth El of West Palm Beach for 10 years and has been honored for
his volunteer work by Very Special Arts - Florida of Palm Beach
County. In 2002, he was awarded the Palm Beach County Parks &
Recreation Director's Hall of Fame Award.
Mark Joseph Smith
is
also a highly successful personal injury attorney who began practicing law
as an associate in some of Palm Beach County's most prominent defense
firms, representing major insurance companies and their insured. Mr. Smith
gained extensive experience in how insurance companies handle claims and
operate. Since 1992, Mr. Smith has represented the interests of people
injured as a result of the negligence of others.
Mr. Smith attended the
University, of Florida where he completed his undergraduate studies in
1980 and was graduated from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing Michigan
where he received his Juris Doctor degree and was admitted to the Florida
Bar in 1986.
Mr. Smith's legal associations
include the Florida Bar Association, the Palm Beach County Bar
Association, the North Palm Beach County Bar Association, and the Florida
Academy of Trial Lawyers.
Douglas L. Phipps
has been involved in serving
people and the country all his life. His first leadership role came
as a teenager serving on the congressional candidate campaign staff for one
of Palm Beach County's leading citizens. He attended prep school in Pennsylvania and
was a leader in academics, student government, and varsity sports. He
went on to play sports in college but service to people became a priority
when he was selected as a candidate for appointment to the United States Military
Academy at West Point, New York. In the Army he was a combat veteran of
Vietnam and, several years later, he became an active, vocal member of the
Vietnam Veterans of America. In the late 1980's he helped sponsor the
"Moving Wall," a replica of the Vietnam veterans memorial in Washington,
D.C., and brought it to the South Florida Fair so friends and family
members of local veterans could pay tribute to those lost in the Southeast
Asian struggle.
Mr. Phipps is a former law enforcement
officer who graduated from the F.B.I. Academy in 1977 in concert with
studies at the University of Virginia School of Law and Nova Southeastern
University. He was a Police Law Specialist and served as a Special
Prosecutor with the Office of the State Attorney in Florida, responsible
for the prosecution of organized criminal activity ranging from
international auto theft conspiracies to smuggling and trafficking in
illegal drugs.
In law school he was selected by a
panel of Judges and leading attorneys to chair a federally funded program
to write a text on evidence. Phipps has authored several treatises on
law, evidence and procedure which have been used in the college courses he
has taught.
Doug Phipps has helped found and
organize several of Palm Beach County's public service organizations and
continues to support charitable programs which benefit our community.
As a member of the Academy of Trial
Lawyers of America and Florida, he represents the interests of victims of
negligence. He is a member of the Palm Beach County Trial Lawyers
Association, admitted to practice in the Federal District Court for the
Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, as well as the Eleventh Circuit
Court of Appeal, Atlanta, Georgia. He is a trial advocate and experienced
trial lawyer who has continued to dedicate his personal and professional
life to represent the interests of the people.
Doug Phipps served on the
initial steering committee for The Childrens' Services Council in Palm
Beach County. He also was a founding member of The Law Enforcement
Officers Trainers Association, a national organization to promote
professional standards for federal, state, and local law enforcement
personnel. Phipps founded the Palm Beach County Crime Prevention
Officers Association and was a founding member of Crime Stoppers, an
initiative in which citizen volunteers assist the police in identifying
crime and criminals with local communities. After the firm obtained a
multi-million dollar settlement of a case where three young children were
horribly burned in a car fire, he has donated to and been an advocate
of the Shriners Crippled Childrens Hospital and Burn Center in Tampa,
Florida. Subsequent to a verdict of $8.8 million in a recent case where
his client sustained severe injuries as a result of employer disregard for
worker safety, he has been a vocal advocate in the political arena for
Workers Compensation and job safety.
Aejandro
(Alex)
G. Casas is a first generation American, the son of immigrants who
fled Cuba to begin a new life in the Untied States. He grew up in
Palm Beach County and attended Cardinal Newman High School. Mr. Casas
earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida Atlantic University and
received his Juris Doctor from Florida State University in 1991.
While at Florida State
University he was a member of the Law Review, where he served as an
Associate Editor. He was also president of the Spanish American Law
Students Association.
After graduating from Florida
State University, Mr. Casas began his legal career as an Assistant State
Attorney in the 15th Judicial Circuit, Palm Beach County, Florida.
He remained at the State Attorney's Office through 1997. While
serving as an Assistant State Attorney, he prosecuted various types of
crimes from misdemeanors to first degree felonies. He was involved
in the prosecution of several highly publicized cases.
Since leaving the State
Attorney's Office, Mr. Casas has concentrated his practice on civil
litigation with a focus on personal injury, representing the interests of
injured persons and their families.
Mr. Casas is a member of the
American Bar Association, Florida Bar Association, Palm Beach County Bar
Association, Palm Beach County Trail Lawyers Association and the Academy
of Florida Trial Lawyers. He is also admitted to practice in the
Federal District Court for the Southern District.
He is married to Susie
LittleJohn Casas and they have two daughters, Cristina and Cecilia.
They are very active in their church, where they both serve as lectors and
he has taught a class for new members.
Mr. Casas speaks Spanish
fluently, is a member of the Cuban American Club of Palm Beach County and
has been actively involved with the United Cerebral Palsy.
